This Valentine's Day, everybody shared their love for The Crane Wives. The band was honored by WYCE programmers, WYCE listeners, and the Special Jury (local critics) for Best Album of 2011; additionally, the album's title track was named "Song of the Year."

On the occasion of WYCE's 25th Anniversary, the Legacy Awards debuted, a sort of Hall of Fame honor for the west Michigan music community, with Grand Rapids journalist John Sinkevics and folk rock pioneers The Willeys getting their numbers retired.
