The Blandford Nature Center surprises with its first-ever Field of Green Festival June 12. Completely environmentally focused, the event boasts vendors offering unique eco-friendly wares from jewelry, clothes, and furniture and food. Picnic Alert: Families will also have the option to bring their own picnics, making it a budget-friendly event as well. Expect local bands such as Seeds & Sprouts, The Wren Boys, Hawks & Owls, and more. The event is held 11 a.m.—4 p.m. with admission a mere $5 for adults and $3 for children (ages 3 and under are free). Somebody tell The Hulk—he’d fit in perfectly here!

WYCE and Local First present the Local First Street Party, Saturday, June 12 in downtown Grand Rapids. This year's Local Lineup is headlined by The Verve Pipe, along with "AB! and Coconut Brown"; "Chance Jones"; "Four Finger Five"; and "DJ Super Dray". The party is from 4:00 p.m. to Midnight, Saturday, June 12 in front of Bistro Bella Vita, on Grandville Avenue at Weston Street. Local First is a non-profit group whose goal is to encourage the development and sustainability of a West Michigan economy by promoting locally owned and independent businesses.
