The Blandford Nature Center surprises with its first-ever Field of Green Festival June 12. Completely environmentally focused, the event boasts vendors offering unique eco-friendly wares from jewelry, clothes, and furniture and food. Picnic Alert: Families will also have the option to bring their own picnics, making it a budget-friendly event as well. Expect local bands such as Seeds & Sprouts, The Wren Boys, Hawks & Owls, and more. The event is held 11 a.m.—4 p.m. with admission a mere $5 for adults and $3 for children (ages 3 and under are free). Somebody tell The Hulk—he’d fit in perfectly here!

This year's Local Lineup is headlined by The Verve Pipe, along with "AB! and Coconut Brown"; "Chance Jones"; "Four Finger Five"; and "DJ Super Dray". The party is from 4:00 p.m. to Midnight, Saturday, June 12 in front of Bistro Bella Vita, on Grandville Avenue at Weston Street. Local First is a non-profit group whose goal is to encourage the development and sustainability of a West Michigan economy by promoting locally owned and independent businesses.
