Tickets are on sale now for WYCE Live at Wealthy Theatre featuring HEARTLESS BASTARDS, Monday, June 22nd at 8pm.
HEARTLESS BASTARDS is an American garage rock band formed in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2003. The band continues boldly pushing their unique brand of rock 'n' roll into new shapes on their brand new fifth album "Restless Ones." Singer Erika Wennerstrom's spellbinding vocals remain front and center, and her one-of-a-kind voice is as primal, cathartic, and indefinable as ever.
Craig Finn - lead singer of heartland rock band The Hold Steady - opens the show.

WYCE's Artist of the Day:: The first thing to know about it: Though Redman is among the most accomplished living practitioners of the jazz tenor saxophone, and can be counted on to shred on demand in a small group context, this is not a jazz date. Instead, it's a series of knotty, deeply challenging compositions that explore (and usually exhaust) groove frontiers far from the spang-a-lang swing and the businessman's bounce. The rhythmic language here derives from rock and contemporary music, as well as the open, beautifully textural questing associated with the European avant-garde and certain strains of electronic music. The result: pulses that have an undeniable future-forward energy running through them.

Produced for a mere $15,000, Cale stated in his autobiography What's Welsh for Zen? that there wasn't "much originality on that album, it's just someone teaching himself to do something". He also "thought the songs were simplistic". He pieced together a band to play on the album, and they named themselves Penguin. However, the group didn't last beyond the recording sessions.
