Performed Under Several Stage Names During The 1930's & 40's. Bessie Mae Smith Was A Prolific Composer And Was A Central Figure In The St. Louis Blues Scene, Often Playing With Roosevelt Sykes, Lonnie Johnson And Big Joe Williams. Her Whereabouts Are Non-Existent After 1944.
