Today’s WYCE Artists of the day are the alternative country/Southern rock band : Drive-By Truckers. Drive-By Truckers was co-founded by Patterson Hood (son of bassist David Hood of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section) and longtime friend, former room-mate, and musical partner Mike Cooley in Athens, Georgia, in 1996. Current members include Hood, Cooley, Brad "The EZB" Morgan, Jay Gonzalez, and Matt Patton. In 2007 Jason Isbell announced that he was no longer a member of the band. The band's constant touring has developed its dedicated following. It's a Great Time to Be Alive! is a new 35 track box set Live from the Fillmore in San Francisco, featuring songs and stories spanning thirty years of Drive-By Truckers.
