a note about this track

A short edition of "Under The Covers With Deuzer" tonight -- I was not aware this song was written by someone other than John Prine, until Nurse Patty took me to school this week! Instead, the late country-folk singer-songwriter Blaze Foley was the writer. We'll hear his original version next, then a tribute to Foley written and performed by his friend and mentor... Lucinda Williams. The late Townes Van Zandt also wrote a tribute song for his friend, titled "Blaze's Blues."

Death Came
The Ghosts of Highway 20 2016 via Highway 20
a note about this track

Although lots of Lu's music could be described as sounding "haunting," this one is especially so, which seems all the more appropriate on an album of songs presented under the title "The Ghosts of Highway 20." Makes me think of "Pineola," and "He Never Got Enough Love."
