SCMC - SF Jazz Collective (click for more info)

St. Cecilia Music Center wraps up its 2017 concert season with a performance by S.F. JAZZ Collective - Thursday May 4th at 7:30 pm.

The group's mission is to perform fresh arrangements of works by modern masters and newly commissioned pieces by each Collective member.

This year the Collective pays tribute to trumpeter, composer, and innovator Miles Davis, who, more than any figure, changed the sound of jazz - from the birth of bebop in the 1940's to the integration of rock approaches that gave rise to the fusion movement in the 1970's.

SF Jazz Collective honors his work and perform original compositions - Thursday, May 4th at St. Cecilia Music Center.
