Now screening, The Breadwinner, an animated tale that follows Parvana, an 11-year-old girl who lives under Taliban rule in Afghanistan in 2001. After the wrongful arrest of her father, Parvana cuts off her hair and dresses like a boy to support her family. Working alongside a friend, she soon discovers a new world of freedom and danger.

Bell's Brewery in Kalamazoo presents "Organissimo" - tomorrow night! - Saturday January 6th at 8pm in the Bell's Eccentric Cafe Back Room.
The West Michigan based jazz trio was founded back in 2000 with the goal of bringing jazz back to the people. Organissimo's sound is instantly identifiable yet constantly evolving, infusing elements of funk, gospel, blues, progressive rock, and Latin rhythms into a solid foundation of jazz.
