Blues And Gospel Music Share A Lot Of Common Roots, So It's Not Unusual For Performers To Cross The Line In Both Directions. Robert Wilkins Became An Ordained Minister In The 1930's And Carried The Sound Of the Delta On To The 1960's Festival Generation. He Played With Charley Patton, Son House and Frank Stokes; Formed A Jug-Band With Gus Cannon, And Taught Memphis Minnie A Few Guitar Licks. After Decades Attending To His Flock In Memphis, Robert Was 'Re-Discovered' By Blues Researchers - Piedmont Records Issued A New Album "Memphis Gospel Singer," In 1964, His First In Thirty Years. Rev. Robert Wilkins Passed On In 1987 At The Age Of 91.
