March 25, 1906 Georgia - September 20, 1962 Georgia - Curley Weaver And Boyhood Friend Barbeque Bob Hicks Were At The Forefront Of The 1920's Atlanta Blues Scene, Jamming With A Loose Collective Known As The Georgia Cotton Pickers. Weaver's Only Regional Hit Came In 1929, However, It Was The Records Made With Buddy Moss As They Accompanied Blind Willie McTell On His Classic And Timeless Recordings During The 1930's Serve As Important Examples Of Piedmont Blues. Weaver Eventually Recorded Again With McTell In 1950, But By Then He Was Going Blind And Returned To Playing On Street Corners In Atlanta For A Few Years Until His Passing In 1962
