T-Bone Walker has a good claim to be the first guitar hero; A supremely confident stage presence harkening back to the great Charlie Patton, with a full bag of stage tricks. Travelling around Texas with various Carnivals and Medicine Shows, Walker was noticed by Columbia Records in 1929, signed to a contract and relocated to California in 1934, playing with swing bands and sharing the stage with Charlie Christian, who would electrify and revolutionize Jazz guitar, the same way T-Bone did with the blues. A member of The Blues Hall Of Fame Aaron Thibodeaux Walker passed on in 1974.
