Blues Spotlight: The First Bluesman To Record Beginning In 1924 With The Paramount Label, Playing A Hybrid Banjo-Guitar. Apart From His Records And Their Recording Dates, Little Else Is Known For Sure About This Pioneering Bluesman. He Is Known To Have Busked Around Chicago In The Early '20's, Playing For Tips On Maxwell Street, and Recording Duets With Ida Cox, Ma Rainey And Hattie McDaniel, Reaching A Musical Peak Of Sorts In 1929, given The Opportunity To Record With His Longtime Idol, Blind Blake, Known As The King Of Ragtime Guitar. Papa Charlie Jackson Remains A Shadowy Figure, Considered A Highly Influential Figure In The Blues, Though Not Quite A major Blues Figure. Charles Jackson Passed On In 1938.
