Pink Anderson And The Rev. Gary Davis

I've Got My Own
American Street Songs 1956 via Riverside
a note about this track

Pink Anderson Is An Excellent Proponent Of The Piedmont Guitar Style Playing With Medicine Shows Back In The 20's. Pretty Much Staying In The Deep South Throughout His Career, He And Simmie Dooley Formed A Duo Playing Rags And Songster Material On Street Corners All Over The Carolinas As They Followed The Medicine Shows Around For Many Years. Grady Tate And The Rev. Gary Davis Recorded With Pink As Did Peg-Leg Sam. These Recordings Are Well-Preserved. And A Wonderful Representation Of Piedmont Blues In Its Purest Form. Pink Finally Got His Due During the Folk/Blues Revival Of The 1960's. Pinkney Anderson Passed On In 1974
