Henry Spaulding - Cairo Blues (1929)
Rough Guide to Unsung Heroes of Country Blues 2015 via World Music Network
a note about this track

Country Blues Guitarist Henry Spaulding Only Recorded Two Sides In His Brief-As-They-Come Recording Career, Both On May 9, 1929. He Is Believed To Be From Illinois, However, Documentarians Can't Agree On The Location Of His Birth. What We Do Know Is He Busked The Streets Of Chicago With Fellow Country Blues Guitarist Henry Townsend. Townsend Appropriated Spaulding's String Snapping Style Into His Guitar Work Over A Long And Successful Career. Spaulding, Unfortunately Passed Away Not Long After The Single Recording Session Took Place In 1929.
