Eddie Mack ft. Cootie Williams & His Orchestra

Cool Mama [1949]
The Complete Recordings, Vol. 11947 1952 1995 via Apollo Music
a note about this track

Blues Spotlight: Mack Was An Obscure But Very Fine Blues Shouter, Part Of The Brooklyn Blues Scene In The Late 1940's And Early 50's, However His Subsequent Career Is A Mystery. Mack Fronted The Orchestras Of Cootie Williams And Lucky Millinder, Recorded With Mickey Baker, Willis Jackson And Bobby Smith Cutting Two-Dozen Sides Over A Five-Year Window. Mack Was The Quintessential Shouter, Reinforcing The Importance Of Blues Music To An Increasingly Sophisticated, Urban Audience. Rock And Roll Ended The Reign Of The Shouters In The 50's, And One Of The Best Drifted Into Obscurity.
