The Du Droppers

Come On And Love Me Baby [1952]
The Best Of The Du Droppers 2015 via Big A Media
a note about this track

Blues Spotlight: Like So Many Of The Pioneer R&B Vocal Groups That Came To Prominence In The Late 40's, The Du Droppers Had Their Genesis In The Field Of Gospel Music. Forming In Harlem, The Quartet Etched Out A Solid Four-Year Career, Recording For Several Labels And Placing Several Singles At The Top Of The R&B Charts. The Du Droppers Are Never Mentioned In Connection With Any List Or Grouping Of The Top Vocal Groups Or Performers Of The R&B Era. Much Of That Is Because Their Time Came Before The Big Explosion In Music During The Summer And Fall Of 1954; One More Act In The R&B Field That Missed Their Real Day In The Spotlight, But Certainly Left Their Mark On The History Of This Music.
