The recently expanded Tuesday Evening Music Club brings talented local and regional musicians to the Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater stage every Tuesday evening throughout June, July and August!

Concerts begin at 7 pm and there's room for picnics! These outdoor performances are included in Meijer Gardens membership and for any general admission visitor to the Gardens on Tuesdays. 

The Tuesday Evening Music Club is generously supported by WYCE, Corporate Live and Meyer Music.

Blues Spotlight: One Of The Initial Bluesmen Who Crossed Over Into Areas Not Normally Associated With The Genre Before He Came Along, Terry's Music Career Began On the Street Corners Of Raleigh, Spanning More Than Five Decades In Which He, And Partner Brownie McGhee Entertained Audiences Around The World. Their Piedmont Style Blues Has A Very Different Feel To Delta Blues, And Its Effect On Modern Music Has A Very Different Genesis To The Route Through Chicago That Gave Us Blues-Rock. Sonny's Collaborations With Woody Guthrie And Moses Ashe Are Some Of The Most Cherished Recordings In The Smithsonian Folkways Collection. Terry's Energetic Style Was Well-Known For Including Vocal Whoops And Hollers, and Imitations Of Trains And Fox Hunts. Sonny Terry And Brownie McGhee Were Both Recipients Of A 1982 National Heritage Fellowship Awarded By The National Endowment For The Arts - Saunders Terrell Passed On In 1986.
