We Were Promised Jetpacks are a Scottish indie rock band from Edinburgh, formed in 2003. They've released five studio albums, the most recent titled Enjoy the View - their most intimate record yet.

Grand Rapids Civic Theatre presents The Revolutionists, on stage September 23rd through October 9th.

Four beautiful, boss women lose their heads in this irreverent, girl-powered comedy set during the French Revolution's Reign of Terror. A playwright, an assassin, a former queen, and a Haitian rebel hang out, murder Marat, and try to beat back extremist insanity in 1793 Paris. This grand comedy is about violence and legacy, art and activism, feminism and terrorism, compatriots and chosen sisters, and how we go about changing the world.

St. Cecilia - Alfredo Rodriguez and Pedrito Martinez (click for more info)

St. Cecilia Music Center presents Cuban duo Alfredo Rodriguez and Pedrito Martinez on Thursday, October 13th, 2022 to kick off the 2022-2023 Jazz Series. 


Rodriguez is a composer and jazz pianist discovered by Quincey Jones. Martinez is a percussionist, singer, bandleader and composer. Rodriguez studied classical piano at conservatories and Martinez honed his craft on the streets in Havana. They come together to merge their talents for a night of Cuban jazz.
