Blues Plate Special: Detroit's Long-Time Acoustic Blues Duo Reworks The Blind Boy Fuller Classic. Blind Boy Played Outside Tobacco Warehouses For Tips, Earning Him Gigs With Sonny Terry, Washboard Wiz George Washington And Gary Davis. A Talent Scout Took All Three To New York City In 1935 For A One-Day Recording Session; "Rag Mama Rag" Was Laid Down At This Session. Over The Next Five Years Fuller Recorded 135 Tracks. Fuller's Songwriting Owed A Debt To A Wide Range Of Piedmont Artists, And His Guitar Style On The National Steel Was In The Shadow Of Blind Blake - Fulton Allen Passed On In 1941 At The Age Of 36.
