The Grand Rapids Safe Alliances for Everyone (SAFE) Task Force is looking to offer funding to those committed to helping to reduce gun violence in our community. 

It will do that through its next Pitch and Highlight Night Tuesday, Oct. 29. 

Organizations and individuals who pitch proposals to reduce gun violence in Grand Rapids may be awarded financial support to make those ideas possible. 

Nonprofits and individuals may submit proposals to the SAFE Task Force through October 21

Overlooking the Grand River, Linear focuses on fresh cuisine while striving to create a welcoming atmosphere.

Linear features a full bar with handcrafted cocktails and wine and beer offerings. 

Tuesday through Saturday, dining hours are 11 to 3 for lunch, 3-5 for happy hour, and 5-10 for dinner.

Hispanic Center of West Michigan - Coat Drive (click for more info)

"Winter is coming, and the Hispanic Center needs winter coats to keep families warm! 


Donations are needed now for their Annual Winter Coat Distribution on Saturday, November 16th, at Cesar Chavez Elementary School.

The Hispanic Center will be giving away free winter coats that day. No registration is needed; it's first come, first served. 

If you'd like to donate gently used winter coats or sponsor this event, please call Gaby at 616-742-0221. You can also drop off winter coats and donations at the Hispanic Center Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Lowell Arts Theater presents Playbytes by Playwrights: *No Idea Is a Bad Idea. Performances are scheduled for October 18 to October 27th at Lowell Arts - 223 W Main Street in Lowell.

Playbytes by Playwrights is a 10-minute play competition featuring original works that have been juried and selected to be performed.

Tickets are available online, over the phone, or in person at Lowell Arts.
