The Grand Rapids Public Library (GRPL) invites poetry lovers of all ages to Open Mic Night for Poetry on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 6:00 - 7:00 pm at the Main Library, at 111 Library St Northeast.

This event, hosted by local poet Michael Sikkema, offers a welcoming space for poets of all skill levels to share their work in front of a supportive audience.

This summer, the Land Conservancy of West Michigan and Querkus Creative are taking insect appreciation on the road with an event series called "Moths on Tour!" 

"Moths on Tour" features a technique called "light sheeting" to attract moths, beetles, flies, and more for attendees to observe and appreciate the insects. 

There are three after-dark events this summer in Kent, Muskegon, and Newaygo County.
