PATHAAN

Tandava Volume 2

2008-06-05

Pathaan is a UK-based DJ. He's probably most famous in the UK as the host of a BBC show called "Pathaan's Musical Rickshaw". This is an album of songs by global artists that Pathaan has compiled and re-mixed. The album is basically electronica-chill-out music. All the songs blend together into one big groove. If you're going to play this on-air, I'd recommend the first song, "The Eternities". It has a nice mellow vibe that would be a nice late-night listen. Also, the fourth and fifth tracks are slightly upbeat songs that blend together, but could also be played on their own. Track #6, "To the Shore", in particular, is a favorite of mine. Due to the use of sitar and strings, it has a nice feel to it. Reviewed by Rebecca Ruth
