CLIFTON ANDERSON

AND SO WE CARRY ON

2012-11-27

It is often said that music runs through the blood in our veins and this is certainly true for Clifton Anderson. Clifton is the nephew of the great Sonny Rollins and has played and toured with him extensively until the end of 2009 where he left to form his own band. In addition to Clifton being one of the finest trombonist on the planet, he has assembled an all-star group of musicians for this disc which includes the great Monty Alexander on piano, Kenny Garret on Sax, Bob Cranshaw on bass as well as Steve Jordan and Jeff "Tain Watts" on drums. When Clifton was asked why this album now, he is cited as saying "With people increasingly faced with turmoil, uncertainty and crisis, I wanted to create music that uplifts the listener and offers a sense of hope to prevail". This excellent Jazz release certainly will lift your spirit and no matter what difficulty you face after just one listen you will say "And So We Carry On". Reviewed By: Gregg Saur
