Originally from Long Island, this young country singer has been on the up and up since her move to Nashville in '98, but has received invaluable publicity from her cover of "jolene" on the 2003 release Just Because I'm a Woman: The Songs of Dolly Parton. Her performance wowed Rolling Stone and many other critics, enough to create a nice buzz for her new album. This crisp and clean 40-minute-long production is the perfect debut album for someone in this genre. Mindy shows off her strongest point, her tremendous vocals and is backed by a countrish-rock band that follows her from slow, short heartfelt ballads to mid-tempo southern rock.
