The Submarines

Declare A New State

2006-04-19

The Submarines formed in LA after getting their start in Boston, at which time Blake Hazzard and John Dragonetti forged a romantic relationship which lasted four years. A 2004 breakup led to a period of sadness, but one which got into productive songwriting. After some time apart, Blake and John reunited and realized the songs they wrote separately each dealt with their breakup in a similar fashion. Declare a New State! speaks on relationships, dealing with fears, and finding a second chance. Behind smooth vocals melodic swells, The Submarines create a pleasant sound that flows through the listener. Tracks of interest include #1 “Peace and Hate”, #4 “Brighter Discontent”, and #5 “Hope”.
