Chris Whitley brings us “Soft Dangerous Shores”, his twelfth release. The title comes from a poem by surrealist, André Breton. “The morning papers bring women singers whose voices are the color of sand on soft dangerous shores.". Chris half sings, and half moans his abstract lyrics, which I presume only he understands the true meaning of. Mr. Whitley explains that, "Love and death, that's what this record is about, “That’s what all art is, or should be, about."ONWARD, SOLDIERS
