THE GOTHIC ARCHIES

The Tragic Treasury

2006-11-06

This is the first release from Stephin Merritt’s new project, long-time friend of accordionist/songwriter/author Daniel Handler aka Lemony Snickets. Merritt calls his music “faux-gothic,” which seems pretty fair. I would definitely say this is good Halloween music, it’s pretty eerie. I was entertained. All the songs are from Lemony Snicket’s audio books, so that could explain some things. Possible playables are 1 “Scream and Run Away,” 3 “The World is a Very Scary Place,” and one of the two original tracks on the release 15 “We Are the Gothic Archies.” Jake Burritt
