This CD brings together artists who were legendary in the Nashville, Tennessee blues scene years ago. The 18 cuts are all rather banal down-home-blues style tunes (think Z.Z. Hill or Clarence Carter without their spunk) and many of the tunes are disappointingly predictable. For example, on track #12, Girlfriend Blues, Johnny Jones describes discovering his girlfriend in bed with another woman (who “ironically” is a woman he was having an affair with) and of course, he wraps up the song with the hope of joining in.The Living History Band
