Grammy winning jazz guitarist Bill Frisell is back with an octet and a pair of CDs. The material was mostly recorded live in 2006 from the Lisner Auditorium in Washington DC, the Hopkins Center in Hanover NH, and the Berklee Performance Center in Boston. The two disc set features mostly originals inspired by Frisell’s collaborations with visual artist Jim Woodring, and also covers from Sam Cooke, Thelonious Monk, Lee Konitz, and Boubacar Traore. Frisell’s career spans over 30 years and 100 recordings.Mike Longo And The New York State Of The Art Jazz Ensemble
