The Story is folk rocker Brandi Carlile's second album ... and at 24 she's already received an unprecedented amount of attention and praise. In 2005 Rolling Stone named her one of ten "Artists to Watch," and three of the songs from her first album were showcased during Grey's Anatomy. Her carefree singing style — her voice cracks on occasion during the live recording — and bold, introspective lyrics transcend wisdom. Best songs are track 2, "The Story," track 7, "Josephine," and track 11, "Downpour" … a song that uncovers the loneliness Carlile’s experienced while touring the country. – Sarah Cosgrove
