FRANK BLACK

Fast Man Raider Man

2006-06-23

This double-disc album offers twenty-seven songs that range from a honky-tonk flavored opening track “If Your Poison Gets You”, to soft ballads, to full-blown rock songs a la Pixies, to even a very trippy track #10 entitled “Dog Sleep”. The second disc offers more rock sounds than the first disc, yet is equally artistic. Track 3, “Highway to Lowdown” and track 7, “Elijah” are two standout records on this album that will definitely get Pixies fans very energized. Black’s solo album is a testament to his brilliance that he’s showed with the Pixies for so many years. - Lane Zoerhof
