TONY FURTADO

Thirteen

2006-10-31

He’s no newcomer onto the scene of Bluegrass/Rock, in fact he’s been one of the leading slide guitarist/banjoist in this hybrid genre of music. This is his thirteenth release, and it is packed with what you’d expect from such a great name. He has some really fun songs in this album, he certainly tests his limits. Furtado does a great rendition of John Fogerty’s “Fortunate Son” on Track 9. Some other playables are 1 “Used,” 2 “California Flood,” of course title track 4 “Thirteen,” the heart-felt 11 “Take Me to the Pilot,” 12 “Stay Awhile,” and the upbeat, poppy closing track 13 “Long Journey Home.” -Jake Burritt
