Joel Mabus reinterprets twelve of his older tracks on this, his fifteenth (!) album. Mabus has covered a lot of ground his career, ranging from folk, to traditional banjo and classical guitar music, as well as blues; he’s also released a live album and even a holiday album. Retold is an effective retrospective, but due to how drastically different some of these songs sound, it’s also something of a new album as well. – Adam GoranGeorge Ezra
