Legendary band leader and timbales {shallow drums with metal castings that were invented in Cuba} player Pete Escovedo begins this set with the question "What's up San Francisco are you ready for a good time?" and wow does he deliver. Pete spent some of his early years as part of Carlos Santana's band but during his 50 tear career has also worked with Herbie Hancock, George Duke, Bobby McFerrin and Chick Corea. This CD begins with a hot version of the Tito Puente classic "Picadillo Jam" The track "Dance" is a salsa track that was penned by Pete, his sons and his famous daughter the great Sheila E. This track will as it says make you lose control and feel the rhythm deep inside your soul. The track "True or False" has both some great guitar work and a Sax solo by modern day Jazz superstar Dave Koz. "Fly Me to The Moon" a track made famous by Frank Sinatra and recorded by 100's features Pete on vocals Arturo Sandoval joins Pete on stage for the closing track and shows how hot Latin jazz can be.
