Rufus Wainwright

Want Two

2004-11-15

Rufus began his musical adventure at birth, being born to notorious folk musicians, Loudon Wainwright lll and Kate McGarrigle. He's held steady on this journey ever since, adding his own style of theatrically orchestral chamber pop to the ever-changing rock landscape.

His 1998 self-titled debut and its follow up, Poses, were both critically successful. Now Wainwright brings us his most recent release, Want Two; the successor to Want One, which came out last year. Rufus claims that Want Two" has "some of the more daunting tracks, weird stuff"; Heavy songs that relate to his "classical sensibilities".

It was produced by Marius DeVries, who also worked with Bjork, Massive Attack, Madonna and David Bowie. This album includes a DVD of Rufus live in concert. As usual with Wainwright, there are memorable phrases scattered throughout out this album. rk
