Traditional Arabic music. ALHAJ plays the “oud,” which is similar to the lute, and is accompanied on this album by Souhail Kaspar, an acclaimed Lebanese percussionist. This is the musical form of “maqam.” Each piece incorporates improvisation followed by a rendition of a distinctive Iraqi tune. p
