Michigan native Mark Duval’s newest release, “All Night Station,” is an impressive mixture of well performed horn arrangements, classy blues melodies, and steady rhythms. Excellent production and performances make this, Duval’s third release, a great success. Combining Latin, blues, rock, and pop sensibilities, this ambitious release has a lot to offer to a wide variety of listeners. The album is a departure from the stylistic qualities of his 2007 release, “Two-Track Mind,” which featured much folkier arrangements. “All Night Station” is available April 25, 2009.TOM WAITS
