At once electric and accoustic, this release from tabla player Suphala (the first female recording artist in Afganistan since the fall of the Taliban) is an intricate and beautiful kaleidoscope of sound. Collaborating with a roster of talented musicians (such as Vernon Reid and Edie Brickell), Suphala not only wrote virtually all of the material, she also arranged, produced, and engineered it. A talented gal indeed! I think most (if not all) of the programmers here at WYCE will find a cut or three they enjoy enough to fit into their shows. Enjoy! –CarolCottonbelly
