I guess the question is what kind of music do you expect from someone that is in their 70's and still recording??? When i first popped this cd in, i thought i was almost listening to Levon Helm or John Hiatt. it sounded fairly similar. Upon doing some research i discovered that Donnie is actually in his 70's. You can certainly tell the songwriting is there. He knows what he is doing when it comes to that, and i could certainly see him writing music for other people as well. The crackling voice like Levon Helm had towards the end of his career, RIP, would be something i would compare this with. Give it is a listen it is not too bad!!!
