The most confusing part of this music is that it's coming from a guy with a beard big enough to be declared a wildlife habitat resting ground. His voice sounds very young and has a modern folk richness. I really enjoyed his laid back, old-fashioned take on a modern style of folk. Some of the songs drag their feet a little, you'll notice, but out of nowhere comes a twist that will snap his lull effect in half and get you involved in the music. Once I got involved, I was REALLY involved. The album really picks up around the middle. Check out tracks 4 "Dear Sara," 7 "False Positive," 8 "Belated," 9 "Proof," and 10 "Pajarito." -Jake Burritt
