Willy Mason

Where Humans Eat

2006-04-19

A folksy, guitar-slinging album that requires a double take when you realize that Willy is only 19 years old. Mason’s style harkens to the rugged, dirt-road roots of blues brothers like the great Johnny Cash and more current acts like Jackie Greene. Though he is still a young man, Mason’s voice booms and rolls along with his guitar on this powerful backwoods album. Listeners will certainly look forward to future works by this rising folk star. Check out the cowboy ballad #6 “Hard Hand to Hold”, #9 “Our Town”, and the countercultural anthem #11 “Oxygen”.
