Using little more than vocals, acoustic guitar, found percussion instruments, and the occasional drum loop/electronics, Merrill Garbus, calling herself Tune-Yards, has crafted something interesting. Combining African rhythms with pop sensibilities, Tune-Yards offers quirky songs that hold my interest from beginning to end. Her minimalist style belies her wide-ranging delivery and engages the listener. This is really cool stuff! Rebecca RuthBOOKA AND THE FLAMING GECKOS
