The Bo-Keys

The Royal Sessions

2004-05-25

The instrumental soul stew that is The Bo-Keys continues the classic Memphis Stax tradition. The Bo-Keys are an all-star collection of session players from the hey-day of Stax Records, including organist Ronnie Williams, drummer Willie Hall, guitarist Skip Pitts and newcomer Scott Bomar.

Collectively they’ve backed the likes of Wilson Pickett, Rufus and Carla Thomas, Isaac Hayes, The Blues Brothers, The Isley Brothers and Ann Peebles. Their debut album The Royal Sessions is now available on Memphis-based Yellow Dog Records.
