This debut album from New Zealand trio, Electric Wire Hustle, features deceptively handsome self-production. Combining heavy bass and synth with old-school vocals and hip-hop beats, Electric Wire Hustle has forged a modern soul album that only ocassionally sounds retro. This is fine inaugural work from a band that I look forward to hearing more from. Rebecca RuthJ.C. SMITH BAND
