On the third album from San Francisco band, Eux Autres, you get alternating boy/girl vocals (brother/sister Nicholas/Heather Larimer) over jangly 60’s-style guitars. You also get lots of “oohs” and “la-la-las” combined with decidedly contemporary production. This adds up to modern day indie pop that weirdly can sometimes be both upbeat and melancholy simultaneously. I liked this one, but I have to recommend (even more) checking out the website for the claymation/puppet videos (made by band member, Nicholas Larimer) as well. Rebecca RuthPenumbrae
