This solo debut release from sabbatical Jayhawks’s drummer Tim O’Reagan proves that he can do more than just keep beat. While the band was/is active, O’Reagan does some of the songwriting, but here he gets the job done by himself…with the help of a rather large list of fellow musicians, including his mom (violin) and dad (whistle), and featuring Gary Louris, Marc Perlman and Mark Olson from the Jayhawks, and former Son Volt bassist Jim Boquist. His music is an interesting blend of good alternative country with the lighter side of classic rock. Regardless, there’s a whole lot of music in this album. Some playable tracks are 1 “These Things,” 4 “Highway Flowers,” and 6 “That’s the Game.” -Jake BurrittNatalie Merchant
