John Hiatt is at his usual wry self on this release. “Old Days” is a funny, entertaining song in which he reminisces about his early years, when he was playing small venues or opening for bigger acts. Most of the rest of the songs are about love and relationships. His lyrics are original and fresh throughout this album, but that should be no surprise. I imagine this will get lots of play at our little station. There’s not a bad cut to be found here. Tim SmithBACKYARD TIRE FIRE
