Aaron Sinclair used to release music under the moniker, Frank Smith. He did the acoustic guitar and pedal steel bit for his last several albums. Last year's release, Nineties, was his last as Frank Smith (at this point, anyway). For his new Pretty Girls EP, he is using his real name and using the same supporting band to go in a much rockier direction. The Austin-based musician offers raw guitar, combined with keyboards, fine production and vocals with light effects on them. It all boils down to rock that is slightly raw, but tempered with catchy riffs that make it an easy listen. Rebecca Ruth
