Dirk Powell

Time Again

2004-03-02

Thousands of ancient melodies and simple lyrics passed over the ocean and found the fertile southern Appalachians. Country dances, long nights sittin around with family and friends and that good old homebrew.

Dirk Powell and his wife Christine Balfa play many of the old cajun tunes in their band Balfa Toujour, buth the tunes here are specific to the label "old time". Anyone familiar with The Wheatland Music Festival has heard this sound ringing through the woods there.

Dirk's fiddle recently graced the Cold Mountain original soundtrack and author Charles Frazier provides the liner notes for this release.
