MIHO HATORI

Ecdysis

2006-11-13

A beautifully crafted album from Miho Hatori (1/2 of the group Cibo Matto), she takes Bjork-like vocals and mixes them with her own style and lays them against electronic and world beats. An interesting album that really keeps the listener astute and genuinely captures the heart within the music- track 2 “A Song For Kids” is entirely in Japanese. Pay attention to tracks 1 “Ecdysis”, track 4 “Barracuda”, track 7 “Sweet Samsara Part I”, track 8 “Sweet Samsara Part II”. -Lane Zoerhof
